Yay! long time no see. this is mostly just life update stuff and little fun things. My absence was primarily caused by a little niche game that nobody has yet heard about called Baldurs Gate 3. i am its only player. It was gifted to me by a friend (i love u Fen) and it's honestly kind of gotten me back into dungeons and dragons which i had not thought about for Years and its sooo so fun. I'm not done with the game yet but i am free from its clutches for now. My characters name is Comedy and she is an undead simulacrum tiefling bard that was reanimated by a necromantic wizard named Wolfgang (my friends tav). This is her hehe

I love her to death. I'm really not an RPG kind of person but bg3 completely blew me away, i love the incredible amount of dialogue that is available to you and especially unique dialogue options you can get depending on how you make your character. Also i think my favorite companion has to be Karlach... she reminds me a lot of Gideon Nav so i immediately fell in love with her as a character. She is serious business to me. The voicework for all of the companions is so great and i have a spot in my heart for all of them...i'm excited but also so scared to finish the game...save me...

In other news: I got a bookshelf! An actual one. I had been putting all of my books in Closet Shelves and also i was seriously running out of space so i decided to upgrade. i love it very badly. Most importantly: I can have a better tomb shelf. everybody cheer

You may also notice the special editions which i am still beyond ecstatic about. They were a Christmas gift and are the most beautiful books that i own and i cannot stop staring at them. I am so grateful to have them after wanting them for so long...

for Christmas i also got myself a copy of The Divine Comedy. I am halfway through and it is fascinating. It's kind of hard to understand at times less because of the writing style and moreso because it contains a lot of references to 13th century Italian politics and a ton of mythology that i am admittedly really not well read on. Thankfully there's a big chunk of the book dedicated to giving context to those things so i'm not too lost. Other than that it's just extremely good and basically the worlds most famous self insert fanfiction. I have to admit i was not motivated to read this solely because it is such an influential work but specifically because it influenced The Locked Tomb which is a lame reason but it is true.

TLT has honestly gotten me into reading classics more and it makes the reads so much more fun... They add so much to my love of Tomb and the story it tells because it feels like when you dig into its influences you better understand what its trying to say and just, like, the discourse it is apart of. idk how to put it but its just very worth it. I feel like people try to look for their next tomb in other SFF novels when they should be looking at its ingredients.

Anyway, I had a really great Christmas and New Years. I spent a lot of it with friends which put me in good spirits. I hope the same for everyone else and that the new year has been treating you all well! I think thats all i have to say for now... until next time :^)

I will leave you with a picture of my dog
